It seems these days that much of our news coverage is more an espousing of opinions based on selected facts than an accurate report of all the facts. With the healthcare debate and Russian collusion investigation ongoing, it is difficult not to internalize opinions as fact. However, without God’s blessing, a person’s opinion worth less than the hot air that bears it. We are not meant to understand as God understands; we are made to depend upon Him. Just as a child depends on his parents to learn and grow, so we are to depend upon our Father for the same. In Colossians, Paul writes “You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” If we seek to make a meaningful contribution to the world, as God created us to do, then we must rely on His understanding of the world, not the world’s understanding of itself. Pray today for clarity and understanding from the Lord so that you are empowered to make a meaningful impact to those around you.
