With the Trump Administration's decision to end the Obama Administration's DACA executive order, immigration policy is back in the news in a big way. Immigration has been a hot-button issue in our country for decades, and has greatly contributed to the current divide between our political parties. It should come as no surprise that the government has made a decision that some agree with and others do not. However, before we descend into bitter vitriol, consider where the goodness in the world comes from. Does it stem from the government and politics? Or does it come from us, acting out our faith and loving those around us? Before we sink into vicious debate, pause to remember that fighting over government policy will never do more good than we can do through Christ. In John, Jesus says “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father." Today, rather than take to social media arguing for governmental policy, reach out to your church leaders to see how you can help others in need in your community.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father." -- John 14:12
