President Trump delivered a strongly worded speech to the world at the United Nations yesterday, taking a firm stand for American interests and laying out the doctrine by which his administration would operate on the world stage. Regardless of our opinions on his policies and President Trump himself, his speech was clear, unequivocal, and declarative. Speeches like this do not seek to please everyone and they plant a stake in the ground to which the speaker will be tethered to and judged by. Such is the same when we take a public stand of faith, declaring that we stand with Jesus no matter what may come. Many people struggle their entire lives in taking a public stand of faith, fearing that it will rub people wrong, will cause them to lose friends or career opportunities, or open them up to public ridicule. All of these are true, and that is actually part of the beauty in taking a stand for Jesus. You will be seen differently, you will challenge others to take stock of their own faith, and you will close off the opportunities and friends who would not lift you up in life. Change will happen. These are not things that should be feared, but celebrated. Standing up for Jesus will always lead to blessings from our Father. In Galatians, it says, "Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery." Today, free yourself from the shackles of public opinion and destructive relationships by taking a stand for Jesus, declaring your faith and standing firm against the yoke of the enemy.
