Over the weekend, President Trump again took to Twitter to issue a provocative statement challenging North Korea on its nuclear program. The scourge that is the leadership of North Korea is a concern to all, and as in any high stakes negotiation, our words and actions must clearly indicate the strength of our resolve. Most of us will never face decisions and circumstances like those our Presidents have faced, but we will nonetheless face crucial decisions in our own lives that will feel just a life-and-death to us. We will face confusing times, when we feel completely astray and lost, but still must make a firm decision for our future. We all have at some point wished we could just surrender to the battles in our lives, cave in and stop fighting because we are exhausted, scared, or even might think that whatever lies on the other side of defeat is still better than continuing to fight. What we all learn one both terrible and glorious day is this: we cannot fight alone forever. Surrender is necessary. However, who will you surrender to? Jesus or the enemy? In Galatians, Paul writes of that great surrender to Jesus, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." Today, and everyday, choose to surrender to Jesus and by faith allow Him to fight your battles for you.

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." -- Galatians 2:20
