All the buzz yesterday surrounded the allegations of rape and sexual assault of famed entertainment mogul Harvey Weinstein. If even half of what Weinstein is accused of turns out to be true, it is inexcusable and should be met with swift justice through our judicial system. That said, his sin is emblematic of just how far the enemy can lead even the apparently strong and successful to ruin. The enemy seeks to kill and destroy and wants to lead astray anyone he can get within his grasp-- rich, poor, and everyone in between. Fortunately, we serve a God who is bigger than anything this world can mount against us. We also serve a Shepherd who cares about each member of His flock and refuses to write off any one as an "acceptable loss." In Luke, it says "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” As sinful as the acts that Harvey Weinstein is accused of are, Jesus does not see any of us as acceptable losses. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us as Christians to do what is difficult--pray for and forgive sinners. Today, pray for the lost and the sinful that they may come to know Jesus.

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” -- Luke 19:10 ESV
