In the last day, a large argument between President Trump and a Democratic Congresswoman broke out over what the President said to the widow of a fallen soldier. Both sides have claimed the other is not being truthful about the exchange, so it has become a "he-said-she-said" playing out in the national media. In Proverbs, it says "For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” Stirring up the ire of a nation over a petty squabble does nothing but hurt all of us. The wedge between the political parties drives deeper every time we fight over topics that either distract from the real issues or, as in this case, detract from honoring a fallen soldier. As a rule, he-said-she-said always falls short of what Jesus says. When we seek more Jesus instead of more conflict, we emerge a more righteous, loving, and truth-filled person. Today, instead of hardening our hearts against those who think differently than us, open your Bible and seek more of Jesus.

"For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” -- Proverbs 30:33 NIV
