Since the Christmas season also coincides with the end of another year, it is a great time to be generous with our giving. Before we pull out the check book though, it is important to reflect on all the blessings God has bestowed upon us this year. The reason is simple: Our giving is amplified by our spirit of thankfulness. We all undoubtedly had struggles this year, but the mere fact that we are still here breathing means that God deserves to be exalted and thanked. In Exodus, it says, "The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him." Today, before making decisions on end of year giving, spend time in prayer, counting and thanking God for each and every blessing this year. He is so good.

"The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him." -- Exodus 15:2
