As Congress heads back into session, the news and political debate, which has abated over the holidays, will be coming back soon. As both parties plan their agendas, pray that both seek to build up the country and not their party. Whenever new ventures are undertaken, there is always a great deal of hope. Often, that hope turns to concern when inevitable roadblocks and problems arise. When we put our hope solely in each other or in our government, we set ourselves up for defeat. In Psalms, it says, “the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Place your hope first in God’s unfailing love and dedicate your plans to Him, and watch your ventures be blessed. Today, pray for our leaders and dedicate your own goals and plans to the Lord.
