As Congress continues to squabble over intelligence memos and ongoing investigations, the issue of where we can turn to find the truth looms heavily over the entire debate. Many today claim to be agents of truth, and while they may speak it from time to time, no person on earth has the understanding of our Father in heaven. When Jesus asked his disciples who the Son of Man was in the Gospel of Matthew, Simon Peter answered him correctly, saying, “You are the Messiah, the Son of living God.” To which Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” Jesus acknowledged an important fact about our Father in this exchange: God reveals all truth to us. When we consume more of the word of man than the word of God, our moral compass for truth drifts from true north. Said another way, when we consume more news than Scripture, our sense of right and wrong is blurred. Today rather than read or watch more news, dive into your Bible and read the true words of God.
