Tragedy struck in Texas last Friday as a gunman opened fire in a school, killing 10 and injuring more. In times such as these, when tragic events seem to occur more and more frequently, it can seem like we as a society are constantly being shaken up, down, left, and right with no way to find our bearing. After each tragedy, countless voices call for countless different “solutions.” But when we are calling out our own ideas like this, we are only continuing to shake up our society into a froth. Positive forward progress was never made by any society who allowed themselves to be shaken, nor do we individually take strides in our own lives when we live confused, bitter, and angry. Psalm 55 says, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." Today, tune out the noise that only seeks to shake you from your core beliefs and stand firm upon the rock that is Jesus.
