The white nationalist protests in Washington DC yesterday made big news, especially for being the anniversary of the deadly Charlottesville riots one year ago. Sadly, race issues aren’t just a one-weekend-a-year thing. It is an ongoing issue in our society because the devil makes sure it is so. God created us all to be different but it is the devil who causes us to see those differences as a problem instead of a strength. In 1 John, it says, “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” The enemy doesn’t discriminate by color for whom he attacks; instead, he uses it as one of his most potent methods of destruction. Said another way, the devil doesn’t care what color you are, but he is going to make sure others do. Today, take a stand against hate and evil and for God by purposefully reaching out to those who look different than you and be the brother or sister they deserve.
