A lot of news broke late yesterday surrounding Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen, both either being found guilty or pleading guilty to criminal activity. It underlines the importance of living a good life, respecting the authority of the law but most importantly the authority of God to judge our hearts at the end of life. So far as it depends on us, we are called to live according to His law first and the laws of man second — but with both being important. As it says in Amos, “Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.” Living a day of good work and goodwill leads to peaceful sleep and a blessed life. Today, if you have any wrongs that linger over you and your conscience, right them today and repent. If you do not, continue to live life by the Lord’s blessings and mercy, giving Him the praise He is due.
