Happy Elevated Friday! Today we highlight a story of unique strength and bravery by two siblings to save a couple and their 11-day old baby. Last week in Tampa, FL, Aaron Allen and Jolisa Jones were driving their Ashley Furniture delivery truck as they do every day when they saw a car side-swipe the SUV in front of them. The SUV skidded off the road and turned upside down as it fell into a nearby creek. As the water began to leak into the vehicle, the young men jumped into action. They somehow lifted the SUV up enough for Jones to punch out the windshield so they could then help the family. By the grace of God, the family was unharmed.
We all face tests in life when the only way to make it through is by being strong. Sometimes our challenges require physical strength, other times emotional or spiritual strength. We are all capable of varying degrees of strength, but we are not capable of facing some challenges alone. Standing in the face of incredible circumstances requires a strength we cannot possibly summon by ourselves. In Philippians, it says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Never underestimate the unique strength we can wield from faith in God. Today, give thanks for the strength of our God that He wields in our lives as well as that He bestows upon us in times of challenge.
