With the Thanksgiving holiday coming up this week, it seems only right to begin the week by being thankful. We each have so much to be thankful for, from our families to our jobs to the roof over our head and food on our table. It is only by God’s grace that we have these and so many other blessings in our lives. These are typically the things that come to mind when someone asks us what we are thankful for. But there is one more thing that supersedes all these: our forgiveness. The greatest blessing the Lord gives us is His forgiveness through Christ Jesus. In Ephesians, it says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Thank you, Lord, for the grace with which you forgive me of my sins. Today, give your greatest thanks to God for His forgiveness when we are not deserving of it.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” — Ephesians 2:8 NIV
