Now that Christmas is only one week away, many of us are furiously searching online and in stores for those last minute gifts for our loved ones. In the hustle, bustle, and stress of finding last minute gifts, we can lose sight of what this season is truly about. The fact that Jesus, our Lord and Savior, was born a child that lived, breathed, and experienced all that it is to be human — making him uniquely qualified to be our Savior. This holiday is about glorifying the gift God gave us: the ability for us all to have a real relationship with Jesus. Instead of worrying about who you are giving what (or what others are giving you), give the gift of a relationship with Jesus this Christmas. As it says in Psalms, “Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!” Today, whatever gifts you may or may not give, be sure to give what really matters to those who matter to you.

“Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!” — Psalm 119:36 NIV
