Today, social media is more frequently used to tear others down or make us feel worse about ourselves than celebrate accomplishments or good news together. The more time we spend on social media, the more alone, bitter, and angry we feel. We were not meant to live life this way. The Bible tells us as much, encouraging us to always find rest and support first in Christ but also in other believers. Ecclesiastes puts it this way, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Even though we have Christ in our hearts, sometimes, because of our busy lives, we forget that even Christ surrounded himself with a group of people that supported Him. Christianity is a team sport and there are always more starting spots on the team. Today, if you feel disconnected or alone, get connected with other believers. If you know someone who is struggling with connecting, be the one to connect with them.

And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV
