In recent years, bullying on social media has ramped up dramatically; however, the majority of the bullying stems not from people taking perverse pleasure in making others feel bad, but instead from people taking perverse pleasure in making themselves feel superior to others. We’ve all made mistakes in life or said things we regret later. We’ve all also held opinions that were unpopular or different than the mainstream. None of that makes us bad people. We all will face God one day to speak to our lives, but we are not incapable of ever being good if we make one, or many, missteps in that life. It says in Ephesians, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” The Bible gives us the map for life but it doesn’t force our footsteps. Today, give others the same forgiveness that you would pray for in their shoes. Encourage the goodness in everyone you meet and do not disown them for the bad.
