Fear and belief, two words that have strong meanings to all of us. None of us wants to live life fearful but sometimes we can’t avoid it. Simultaneously, we all want to believe that the future will be better than the present. The thing we often forget is that fear takes an enormous amount of energy to sustain, but so does belief. As simple as it may sound, belief is not easy when something fearful faces us. On those fearful days, belief sometimes takes both fervent prayer as well as vocal recitations of those beliefs in order for fear to be conquered. But we choose to believe not just because Jesus told us to, but also because we know that belief chases fear from our minds. One cannot exist entirely while the other is present. The more we focus our energy on our belief instead of our fears, the more we will live victoriously. Today, if you are living fearful, choose to put your energy towards belief in the almighty name of Jesus instead of continuing to feed your fears.

“But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” — Mark 5:36 ESV
