God did not design us with the ability to see into the future, so none of us know what is yet to come in our lives or in this world. The fact that what lays before us is unknowable and the path to that place is unseeable is a daunting concept to grapple with. However, just as with all of God’s designs, he provided a way for us to walk with confidence, seeing each step we take and trusting in it: Jesus. Jesus is the light that shines within us and, when we live out our faith in the world, through us. By that light we can see what we need to in the days to come. Jesus said, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” The world can be a dark and confusing place, so be the one who lights the way forward. Today, choose to live out your faith boldly so as to light not just your own path but also for those who follow behind you.
