As today is Election Day, the nation will venture out to make their selections for its leaders. While it may seem like a chore to some or a small decision to others, voting for our leaders is another way we can honor God. Proverbs tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” If we acknowledge God, and not our own selfish desires, with our votes, God will bless our nation with a straighter path going forward. However, it can certainly be difficult to choose a candidate in today’s political climate who we feel embodies God’s teachings, but that is not what our vote has to be. So long as we approach voting prayerfully, with God’s teachings in our own heart, and make our decision accordingly, we can trust that God will bless us and our nation. Today, as you cast your ballot, remember that while voting is a personal decision, it, like other decisions we make in life, can and should be used to honor God.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

**My apologies for not having a devotional for yesterday. I was sidelined with some sort of flu/bug.
