As the pandemic seems to be rounding the curve in some places in the US, we finally are having some good news we all can celebrate to a certain extent. While time will inevitably tell what will happen, what can we do today to help a good outcome for all? We can pray. In Proverbs, it says, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.” The United States, obviously, doesn’t have a king, but we do have an elected President and legislative representatives. We are called throughout the Bible to pray for our leaders, and this Proverb is more evidence how our prayers can be fulfilled. When we pray for our leaders, God has the power to steer their course. Today, by name, pray for President Trump, all of Congress (both Democrats and Republicans), and our judicial system. Pray that they may know God as the source of their own strength, wisdom, and guidance and listen to Him when He calls them to act in His name.
