Happy Elevated Friday! Today we highlight an uplifting story that shows what good can come from even the toughest of circumstances. The policies enacted by governments across the world because of coronavirus have put many people out of work. While being unemployed and unsure how to pay the bills is a terrifying and stressful thing, there has been a great silver lining to it. Studies have shown that fathers are feeling closer to their children than ever before. In most households the father, and often both parents, work long days and do not see their children nor give them the attention that either desires. However, studies cited in the article below are showing that fathers are spending more time, giving more attention, and in return, feeling more a part of their children’s lives than ever before. It is things like this that show how God blesses us even through the toughest times in our lives.
There is not a single life lived on earth that does not have peaks and valleys. Our paths in life are never easy walks but who we do the walking with makes all the difference. Walking and talking with God through life always pulls our vision up from the rocky terrain we are currently on and we can see the blessings we truly have. God said to Isaiah, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Though the stress of being unemployed these days is draining, God’s ways always leave us feeling fuller. When we walk and talk with God, we will be filled up with His power, love, and blessings no matter what our circumstances may be. Today, walk and talk with God and look for the blessings in your life that have come in this challenging time.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55: 8-9
