Because for most of us our morning habits include turning on the news, we all have politics on our minds each day. If we are honest with ourselves, as much as we strive to read our Bibles and talk to God each day, some days we fail to. While this is no crime or sin, it does have repercussions on our day when we go first to the world instead of God. In Matthew, Jesus says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” We often think of “seeking God first” as sort of a general statement, or how we should prioritize our life. But seeking God first is not just a lifestyle, but also a daily “To Do” list. When we get our first action of the day wrong, the entire day is thrown off. When we seek God first each day, everything else we do becomes a reflection of that decision because our mind, soul, and body are grounded in His righteousness. Today, commit to forming the habit of seeking God first each and every day.
