In studying the story of Jacob and Esau, and their parents Isaac and Rebekah, in Genesis 27, we see a cautionary tale of what it looks like when the leader of the family tunes out God and tunes into the desires of his flesh. So how are we to hear from God? God most often speaks to us through His written Word: the Bible. If we are waiting to hear something from God, some personal revelation or sign, we, like Isaac, are missing what God has for us now in His written Word. We, as believers, need to be in God's Word daily, letting it mold who we are, being transformed by the Spirit within us. It is only by being close to the Lord through His Word that we know when God is speaking to us. Like a radio scanner, we tune out the noise of the world and tune into God's frequency when we get into God's Word. Today, go to God's Word and tune into what God means in His Word.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." -- Romans 12:2
