First Lady Melania Trump announced yesterday her “Be Best” campaign to teach the next generation of children healthy and wholesome habits with social media/internet, an incredibly important challenge to our society. Our children see more of what we do than we realize, especially online – as there is no such thing as a private conversation. The world we choose to live within shapes our thoughts, actions, attitudes, and emotions. (And yes, while we are here on earth, it is our choice to live in a world where Jesus is Lord or a world where He is not). When the next generation grows up in our world of internet bullying, hate, and tribalism, we cannot blame them for the world that shaped them. Jesus said, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.” Without goodness flowing into us, we will never be able to dole it out. Not only that, but when evil is pouring in, we are doomed to inflict it. It is all our responsibility to pour the Light of the World into the next generation, and to do that, we must all first pour Him into ourselves. Today, make the commitment to pour more of Jesus into yourself and allow Him to work within you to bring about His glory for others.
