With the government currently in a partial shutdown, it’s immediate future is uncertain. We all deal with various levels of uncertainty in various areas of our life. We all use words like if, maybe, and possibly when we think about the future because it is unknown to us. In the unknown lurks crippling fear and doubt. Since we cannot know our future, we must find certainty in the only one who does: God. God goes by many names in the Bible, but one is Yahweh, or “I am.” God did not call Himself the “Great Maybe” or “The Great Possibility.” He is the Great I Am – an expression of absolute certainty. In God’s absolute certainty, we can always find the strength and hope we need in difficult times. Today, declare in your heart that God is the Great I Am, and use that certainty to find the strength you need today.

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”

God said to Moses, “I am who I am.[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” – Exodus 3:13-14 NIV
