National news covered a gun-rights protest in Richmond, VA on Monday that, contrary to what many believed, was entirely peaceful. There is always heightened risk of something happening when tens of thousands of people gather in the same place, but one of the biggest examples this peaceful demonstration showed was the power of prayer. Countless people across this nation prayed for peace and calm during this event and God answered that prayer. Too often we pray hard for our country and leaders and call out to God when things do not go our way. We never give enough praise to the Lord when He directly answers our prayers. Jesus said, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” When we pray with faith, we can have faith that our prayers will be answered. Today, give thanks to the Lord for a safe and peaceful event in Richmond on Monday.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” – John 15:7 NIV
