With Congress back in session after the Thanksgiving break, tax reform is the hot button item on the table. While both sides jockey for political clout either to push through legislation or impede it, it is important to remember that we Christians are not locked into the binary decision of “for” or “against” that others may expound. In Romans, it says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” God is present in all things, but His ultimate will for us may not always be apparent in a fleeting moment. Today, pray for guidance and clear eyes to discern His long term plan and remain focused on it rather than the heat of political debate. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” — Romans 12:2 ESV
