The breaking news yesterday was of President Trump’s declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and his intention to move the U.S. Embassy to the city. This announcement was swiftly met with both praise and criticism, as it strikes a nerve in a very difficult situation in the Middle East. Rather than agonize over the rights and wrongs of every decision, both past and present, let us focus on how we can achieve peace instead of blame. Peace has been elusive in that region of the world for generations, and while there are many concerns and issues, there is one solution. In John, Jesus declared, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Jesus tells us that we will have tribulation in the world, which is obviously true. But since He has already overcome the world, so can we in Him. Today, pray for peace and healing in our world in the name of Jesus.
