The upset election of Doug Jones to the US Senate from Alabama Tuesday concluded one is the most anticipated non-Presidential elections in recent history. Now that we are on the other side of a hotly contested election, as always, it is time to come together again. Though we differ in opinions on how our country should run, we all wish for our opinions to be heard and respected. The only way that happens is through grace. One way of showing grace to others is listening to understand and responding with kindness and gentleness. As it says in Romans, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.” Today, make it a priority to listen to what others have to say, and then respond peacefully, don’t react.
