With the 24-hour new cycle of today, the specific words our elected leaders say are scrutinized day in and day out. It is a daunting idea, having the entire world criticizing you as a person because of some of the words you have said. Jesus faced such charges in his day, and we who follow him faithfully sometimes face persecution, discrimination, or rejection by the world because our faith. Have you ever been questioned as to why you have faith? Have you ever then been doubted by others because of your answer? Jesus doesn’t promise His followers a strife-less life or that every word we say will be perfect and well-received. However, He did promise us that when we place our faith in Him, the Holy Spirit will guide us, teach us, and in challenging situations, give us the words with which we may honor God. Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” When we let go of our desire to please everyone, we free ourselves to wholeheartedly honor God. It is then that we will live the kind of life we were meant to live. Today, place Jesus in his rightful position in your heart, valuing your relationship with Him over all others.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” – John 14:26 ESV
