There is something that we all experience in life – most of us for the majority of our lives. It can bind us together as well as tear us apart when felt acutely enough. That thing is waiting. Waiting for change, waiting for good fortune, waiting for healing, or waiting for countless other things in life. It is when we grow weary of waiting and demand immediate satisfaction that the enemy’s temptations begin to look appealing. Said another way, succumbing to temptation is becoming impatient with God. When we stop waiting for God to bless us, we welcome all the curses the world has to give us. In Isaiah, it says, “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Today, pray for patience and for God to give you the strength to continue waiting, for the blessings through faith are always far greater than immediate gratification from the world.
