As it is officially December, the Christmas season is in full swing. This time of year is a fun one for most of us, with plenty of celebrations with family and friends. We revel in the giving of gifts to those we love and enjoy seeing their reactions upon opening their gifts. But there are some who view this as the most painful time of year because they do not have anyone to celebrate with or do not have the means to give gifts to those they love. As we all look forward to Christmas, let us not forget the real reason for the season: Jesus. Proverbs tells us, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” In this season of giving, remember to give in the name of Jesus to those who are lonely, poor, broken-hearted, or struggling. Today, look around you and see whom you can bless in the name of Jesus this Christmas season.

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” — Proverbs 3:27 NIV
