In breaking news over the weekend, Special Counsel Robert Mueller completed his investigation and turned in his report to the Attorney General. Over the coming days, we are sure to receive plenty of coverage and analysis of it, but for now, a major piece of the political discourse in this country for the last two years is now over. When big things in our lives end, it’s always a good time for reflection. The ending of the Mueller investigation seems to be a unique opportunity in our nation for both those who have attacked the President and those who have defended him to take their next steps with humility and grace. God does not enjoy seeing us be proud, defiant, or quarrelsome, and when we act that way to each other, no matter our reasons, God is not shining through us. The Bible tells us, “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Today, no matter what you thought about the Mueller investigation and the President, act with humility and grace if this topic comes up today.

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” — James 4:6 NIV
