Happy Elevated Friday! Today we highlight a small story of appreciation by a man whose life was forever changed recently. James Holzhauer famously just completed a historic run on the popular game show Jeopardy, winning millions. The long time and beloved host of the show, Alex Trebek, also recently announced that he has pancreatic cancer. This week, James a small donation to a pancreatic cancer charity in honor of Trebek. Though it was a small donation, the sentiment behind it shows an important part of the concept of living a thankful life — appreciating the people who have helped you along the way.

None of us can say that we have arrived at our present station in life all by ourselves. God places people in our lives, some forever and some for certain seasons, but each plays a part in shaping the person we are today and helping us achieve the successes we achieve. Part of being thankful to God for blessing us with the life we have is also showing appreciation to the people God placed in our lives that helped us along the way. Paul began his first letter to the Corinthians by saying, “I thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.” Today, give thanks to God for His wonderful blessings and be purposeful in showing appreciation to the people who He placed in your life who helped you.
