Today there are many who believe themselves to be righteous and every word from the lips a lesson in holiness and goodness. These are the ones who believe they can do no wrong. However, the Bible teaches us something much different. In Romans, it says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” It is both a blessing and a curse that there are no perfect people. Our world suffers because imperfect people with imperfect intentions create imperfect solutions. However, it is a blessing that when we make a mistake or give into temptation, we are not alone and, thankfully, not without hope of redemption. In Ephesians, Paul writes, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.“ Though we all can at times become a little too big for our britches, it is important to remember that no one, including ourselves, is perfect and above sin. Never allow yourself to think that just because you are faithful, you are above sin. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and because we are human and despite our best efforts, we will do so again. However, only by the grace of our Father and through our Savior’s blood can we be forgiven and redeemed. Today, give thanks to God for his grace and Jesus for his sacrifice. Extend grace and forgiveness to others who either sin against you or that you perceive to be sinning. They, like you, are not perfect.
