Now that Thanksgiving weekend is behind us, we all set our eyes on Christmas. The Christmas season, to Christians, comes second only to Easter because it celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Can you imagine living in Biblical times and hearing the good news that Jesus was born? The world, in the flawed and confused state it was in, now had a savior walking among them. The world today is just as, if not more, flawed and confused as those days, and while Jesus does not physically walk among us, the news of his birth carries even more weight now than it did then. We know what Jesus would go on to do for all of us with his life. It is for us in this season to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ far and wide — doing all we can to emphasis the “Christ” in Christmas. The Bible says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.” Christmas is about proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ more than anything else. Today, resolve to spread the good news of Jesus Christ this Christmas season.
