We’re all still waiting on pins and needles to understand more about COVID-19, its spread, and what the next few months will look like. Such a frenzy can, and usually does, stir up worries in all of us. Worry is a strange thing, though. Unlike fear or doubt, which can creep into our minds all by themselves, worry comes only after fear or doubt take root in our minds. Thus, there is a point when we are feeling fear or doubt that we choose to worry instead of have faith. Worry is not an inevitability, it is a choice that we do not have to make. The Bible tells us, “Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.” A prayerful approach to life accomplishes all the major goals of life: to live in accordance with God, to receive His blessings, and live without fear or doubt. Today, rather than let fear and doubt cause you to worry, choose to pray and be strengthened by God’s presence.

“Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.” — Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
