The hardships that this quarantine from COVID-19 is causing is causing incredible fear and stress in those most acutely affected. Hardships are part of life and, while they may feel uniquely painful or frightening when we endure them, they happen to everyone at times in life. The Bible is full of stories of people losing everything, having to start over, or being called to accomplish some Herculean task. As they were all just men and women like us, there is no doubt that fear was ever present in their minds in those times. But in each case, they endured what challenges lay before them by trusting in God. In Psalm 56, it says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." If we do not trust God in the tough times, we will not grow into His blessings in the good times. Today, pray for this nation and the world as we face down this incredible challenge and the hardships it is causing.
