While we have started to have some good news in the fight against COVID-19, there is still so much unknown and so much suffering still happening. When times are tough and we do not know when they will not be tough — and have little we can do to overcome those challenges — our confidence in the goodness of God can waver. Wavering faith does not mean that we are bad Christians, it is usually the result of the world is exerting new pressures and influences on us. After all, we are human and therefore not perfect. We all have wavered in our faith from time to time, but Jesus still loves us and welcomes us back each time. Remember Peter denying he even knew Jesus three times in the hours immediately after Jesus was arrested — Jesus held no grudge but revealed himself to Peter and the other disciples upon his resurrection. So, too, will Jesus reveal himself to us when we seek him, regardless of any doubts we have had. Today, remain confident in the goodness of the Lord, but if your faith has wavered, seek him with all your heart and you will find him.

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” — Psalm 27:13-14
