The truth of any political campaign is that what we all get is really more of a worldview formed from life experience, some empirical data, and gut belief — otherwise known as an opinion. It’s in the conflicting facts, trends, and information that differing opinions can easily form. In such an environment, we all can get a little exhausted by the search for absolute truth. Fortunately, we have that absolute truth in Jesus. There is no guessing, doubting, or conflicting opinions on the redemptive power and love of Jesus. It is absolute. He said, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” If you are fatigued by the relentless bickering and opinion-airing between political parties, abide in Jesus and his word and rest knowing it is absolute truth.
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:31-32 ESV
