There are many out there that will tell us that hustling, staying busy, and pressing forward at all times is the key to fulfilling our needs. In our world that seems to spin faster each day, where we perceive that we always need more just to stay afloat, the idea of “rest” can seem like a luxury we just aren’t entitled to. But that is not the case. While we may need to work hard everyday, the most rejuvenating rest comes not for the body but for the soul. When our soul is restless, it is always searching for what it needs for fulfillment. God said to Isaiah, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength. But you were unwilling.” Our souls can rest when we fully trust that Jesus will provide what we need. Until we can trust that Jesus is enough, our souls will always be searching for what can fulfill our needs. Today, if you are restless, start by trusting that Jesus is who he says he is, and therefore, will provide what you need.

“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,” — Isaiah 30:15
