Like the sunshine bursting through the clouds, after this week we all wish to feel God's presence. Look no further than our own neighbors across the country, who in the aftermath of the tragedy in Las Vegas, have donated over $9 million dollars to the victim's families. A staggering amount by any measure! It is such generosity in the face of evil that shows that God is here, working for good, and providing for our needs. In Philippians, it says "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Through countless prayers, the financial needs of the victims have been met with overwhelming support.

In times of great sorrow or outrage, it is easy to part with extra cash to support someone who the entire world agrees needs it. However everyday, there are people all around us who are going through the darkest times of their lives, but without the media coverage to shine a light on their struggle. Giving to these people means just as much as giving to those who have suffered tragedies like that in Las Vegas, and will be received with just as much appreciation.

It is truly a miracle that so many have given so much to the Las Vegas victims. However, if we extended that level of generosity to our immediate neighbors, who can fathom how miraculous that would be? Our capacity to give only grows when we choose the needs of others over our own wants. Pray today for Jesus to show you the people who need help, and in His name, provide the means through which miracles can be worked.

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 4:19 ESV
