As we head back to work after the New Year holiday, sometimes it can seem like the slow-motion holiday life we all enjoy can switch to fast-forward in a heartbeat. Settling back into our usual work schedules can often times lead us back to our same comfort zones, thereby holding ourselves back from progressing towards our goals for the year. Sadly, this often extends to our spiritual life as well. In order for God to bless us in new ways this year, we must be prepared to seek only what He has to give us. Said another way, since all things good come from Him, we must seek only Him. In Isaiah, God declares He is doing a “new thing” for us, “making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” New things can only come to us through renewed faith. Today, work to continually renew your faith and each day this year, focus on the new good things God has in store for you.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19 ESV
