As the debate over immigration overhaul continues, many feel pulled into the corner of their chosen political party. However, is this the only way we can find solutions in our society? Of course not. Politics are merely one framework by which we can choose to view the world and devise solutions for our society. Often, the reason we choose to see each other through a political lens is because it is easier to understand a party platform and a binary debate than to understand God’s wishes for us. It is this worldly understanding that leads us bicker and demonize those whose worldly understanding is different from our own. In Proverbs, it says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Today, seek a faithful framework to your thinking instead of a political one.
