The world moves at a blistering pace these days because information has never been more plentiful or easily accessed. Today, anyone could learn a new language, see pictures of far away lands, or talk to people across the world all with a few clicks of a keyboard. While this ability is certainly new and eye-catching, is it something to be amazed by? Too many of us place too much of our amazement in the developments and creations of the world and not enough in the creations of God. If we are not careful in what we place as the most amazing things we behold, we can easily allow the world to overtake God in our eyes. In 1 John, it says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.” We have the world at our fingertips these days – but who really wants more of the world? Today, put the world in its place by glorifying God and standing in awe of His creations and His goodness.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.” – 1 John 2:15 NIV
