As we wake up today, people across the nation are heading to the polls to vote for their chosen candidates, and many have already done so. Some are eager for change while others are hoping to continue the path we are on. Voting is an important part of being an American and its importance to our society can not be overstated. However, those who would seek to replace Godly morals and a relationship with Jesus with a vote and excitement about a candidate have confused their responsibility as a Christian. In John, Jesus says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” Voting can change leadership but prayer changes hearts. A Godly future in our country cannot exist without both. Today, pray and vote—in that order.

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” — John 15:7 ESV
