Southeast Texas continues to struggle under the weight of torrential rain and unimaginable flooding, casting many of its people into life and death situations. Broadcasting heartbreaking stories of loss and suffering, the news has been both riveting and crushing to any who watch. Despite every image of untold suffering we have seen, and the countless we have not, God is still reigning supreme on the throne of Heaven. He has not cast a blind eye towards our countrymen and women in Texas who need His help now more than ever. While it is not for us to speculate why such things happen in this world, one thing that is always within our grasp is our faith in God. In Isaiah, it is written, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Faith in the storm creates strength in the sun. Being steadfast in our faith, trusting fully in the Lord and His infinite love for us, will create “perfect peace” in our minds, hearts, and souls. When we have peace, we have clarity of mission, confidence in our abilities, and the strength to see the mission through. Pray today for all affected by Hurricane Harvey. Reaffirm your faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and be renewed in your mission, confidence, and strength.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” – Isaiah 26:3
