As we have all seen, Hurricane Irma left devastation in its path over the weekend. We are an incredibly blessed nation to have such selfless first responders and generous public, for without them the people of Texas and Florida would have little hope of survival and even less in rebuilding. As we move forward towards the rebuilding stage of disaster recovery, donations are one of the best ways to contribute, and fortunately, there are many ways to give through many great charities and foundations. There really is no way to go wrong in giving to the people of Texas and Florida. But what if there was an even better way to give? What if there was a way to not just donate dollars, but have those dollars express the love of Jesus Christ and thru their usage, give glory to our Father? There is such a way, and it is through donating your money through Christian organizations. Not to take away from the amazing work governmental and secular organizations do, but for we who believe that the Christ is the light in the darkness, it seems fitting that with our monetary giving we show that light to those enduring the midnight of their lives. Faith in Christ in this dark time, for some, can mean even more than dollars, and for others, can be the spark of light they need. In Romans, Paul said, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." Today, if you feel called to give to those in need in Texas and Florida, consider giving through a Christian organization, so that those in need may hear the message of love and redemption of Jesus Christ.
