The tragic terrorist attack in New York City on Tuesday reminded us all again of the evils of false doctrine and how devastating confusion can be. Confusion is the state of being unsure or bewildered in the midst of a certain situation. Far too many today live in a confused state, unsure of what they believe in and giving into relativism, or the idea that "doing this isn't as bad as doing that" when both things are wrong. When we live confused, we are easily persuaded and swept off the firm footing on life we believed we had. We do things we later regret because it seemed to be justified in the moment. Contrary to popular opinion these days, there are real, concrete truths. There is such a thing as right and wrong; the grey we tend to operate in is just a mist of confusion. The cure for confusion is earnest prayer and faithful reading of the Bible. In 2 Timothy, Paul writes "Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything." We obtain understanding when we spend more time with the Lord than with earthly distractions. Today, pray for those affected by the New York City attack, and for God to speak His truth into your life.

"Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything." -- 2 Timothy 2:7 ESV
